    Florida Department of Commerce Releases Latest Employment Numbers

    The Florida Department of Commerce has just released the October 2023 employment report. The Jacksonville MSA had an unemployment rate of 3.1%, which was up slightly from September. St. Johns County increased from 2.7 percent to 2.8 percent. Of the 917,972 people counted as part of the area's workforce in October, there were 28,625 unemployed residents in the region – up slightly from 28,090 unemployed residents in September.

    Local Companies Are Becoming Autism Friendly with Certified Autism Center Training Grants

    ​Local businesses have already begun taking advantage of the newly launched Certified Autism Center training grants. The grant will help businesses make necessary accommodations and train local public-facing staff to better serve neurodiverse individuals, including guests with autism and sensory needs.     SJC Applies for the Federal Railroad Crossing Elimination Grant for Intersection at US-1 & CR-210A

    ​St. Johns County is applying to remove the railroad crossing and redesign traffic flow at US-1 and CR-210A to allow for safer and more efficient travel. The Federal Railroad Crossing Elimination Grant allows recipients to enhance safety, promote economic opportunity, and increase the efficiency of the supply chain by reducing accidents and disruptions to both rail and truck traffic. This railroad crossing project has been designated by the Florida East Coast Railway as the top priority in North Florida.

    Northeast Florida Monthly Employment Report - March 2023

    The Florida Department of Economic Opportunity (DEO) has announced that the unemployment rate for the Jacksonville region increased slightly from 2.5 percent in February 2023 to 2.6 percent in March 2023. Of the 885,920 people counted as part of the area's workforce in March, there were 23,187 unemployed residents in the region – up from 22,425 unemployed residents in February.

    St. Johns County Gets Upgrade to its Xfinity 10G Network

    Comcast is accelerating the nation’s largest and fastest multi-gig deployment and announced that its Xfinity 10G Network upgrade has launched to nearly 800 homes and businesses in St. Johns County.
